Performance Testing for Critical Links & Key Devices
Two LinkRunner 10G units (or one unit connected to an EtherScope nXG or CyberScope) along with the Network Performance Test (NPT) application can be used to test critical network links such as switch ports connected to servers, storage, WiFi access points, uplinks, or WAN links. The test can stream up to 8 simultaneous data streams at speeds up to 10G. This testing verifies link compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) based on throughput, packet loss, QoS, latency, and jitter.
Network Performance Test (NPT) Application
This performance test can be conducted at full line rate to measure maximum bandwidth and network quality from one endpoint to another or across specific parts of the network. It can also be used to test switches for tuning configurations before deployment in production environments. For troubleshooting on live networks—where excessive traffic testing may be disruptive—users often configure the NPT app to send low data rates (as low as 64 Kbps) to analyze network quality, detect packet loss, latency, jitter, and verify QoS.
